The Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts (ACCA) is the newest addition to the conference offer at the University. A large theatre with outstanding acoustics and facilities second to none. The Attenborough Centre stands out among events venues in Brighton for its rich heritage, unique design and connections to the University.

Throughout the year, the Attenborough Centre displays an array of events across the board including theatre, dance, performance, discussion, visual art and film. Submerge yourself in the creative world that is the ACCA by embarking on a conference within the facilities. The Centre has a 350 seat theatre as well as four tower rooms to cater for events on every scale.

There are a selection of catering packages available on top of room hire as well as a fully licensed café bar offering barista coffee sandwich and platter options for lunch. The café is a bright and spacious area overlooking the campus with around 50 seats in a peaceful and relaxing environment.

Seminar Room

A circular 43m2 tower with a 65-inch display screen and sound. Ideal for small seminars, private study or small exhibitions. Seats around 25 (loose seats, without tables) or 18-to-20 in a u-shape.

Gardner Tower

A circular 98m2 tower with glass ceiling, one projector, a display screen and sound. Ideal for small lectures, exhibitions and breakout space. Seats 65 (loose seats in rows, without tables), 48 in cabaret and 95 standing.

There is an additional 40m2 mezzanine above the ground floor space (accessible by stairs).

Jane Attenborough Studio

A white-walled, windowless 94m2 space with a projector. Ideal for small lectures, exhibitions and breakout space. Seats up to 60 (loose seats in rows, without tables), 60 standing and 56 in cabaret.

Workshop Studio

A 70m2 (11m long x 6.4m wide) studio with a projector. Ideal for drama and music rehearsals, seminars and small-scale performances. Seats up to 60 (loose seats in rows, without tables), 60 standing, 48 in cabaret and 29 in boardroom.

Auditorium

A 465m2 multi-configurable performance and exhibition space, equipped for theatre and live music. It’s also suitable for conferencing, cinema, public lectures, shows and exhibitions. In an end-stage raked format, it seats up to 348. In a flat-floor format, the capacity is 480 standing.

Cafe Bar

Fully licensed 173m2 bar/cafe area. Seats around 50 with current furniture (maximum 220 standing with a clear floor).
